Your Responsibilities
The Kicheva group studies vertebrate neural tube development, focusing on the role of morphogens. We are interested in the feedbacks between tissue growth, pattern formation and morphogenesis. To study these questions, we use mouse and chick embryos, as well as stem cell differentiation and organoids. Our research integrates a range of approaches, including genetics, genomics, immunohistochemistry, live imaging, quantitative analysis, and biophysical modeling. The position involves supporting team members to advance the group’s research and maintaining and assuring the overall efficient running of the laboratory. We are looking for a proactive team member to support us with the following tasks:

Molecular biology support, including design and generation of transgenic cell and mouse lines, next generation sequencing techniques
Culture and differentiation of embryonic stem cells and organoids
Mouse and chick embryo work, as well as overseeing the maintenance of our mouse colony
Histology, cell and tissue sample processing, and light microscopy
Co-lead position in the lab organization (training users, managing stocks, ordering consumables, keeping databases up to date, etc.)
Support users with using laboratory infrastructure, implementation of new equipment, and assistance in experimental setups
Mediate interactions with our Scientific Service Units (e.g. Pre-clinical facility, Nanofabrication facility)
Take part in group meetings and provide solutions to everyday challenges
