The IHS - Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna is a leading non-university research institute that creates empirically based knowledge on significant economic and social challenges of our time. It delivers excellent applied basic research and impartial scientific policy advice, combining economic and social science perspectives. The IHS is seeking to fill the following position in the Research Group \"Social Sustainable Transformation\"

Student Assistant (f/m/d) part-time (10h/week)

The research group led by Elisabeth Frankus uses both qualitative and quantitative empirical methods. Their research results are used to support the social sustainable transformation in Austria and Europe. As a student assistant, you will work closely with the project and research group leaders and provide support in particular through:

• Conducting literature reviews
• Preparing and analyzing quantitative and/or qualitative data
• Contributing to the writing and editing of project reports
• Close collaboration with project and research management

About you

• Ongoing studies in sociology, psychology, and economics or a related field (preferably at the end of the Bachelor\'s- or beginning of a Master\'s degree)
• Experience in conducting background research and literature reviews
• Experience with the statistical software (R, STATA, SPSS, etc.) desirable
• Accuracy at work, especially with data and texts
• Ability to present complex content in writing in German and English
• Very good knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Efficient, independent and team-oriented way of working

The monthly salary for the advertised position is based on the FWF scheme for student assistants and amounts to € 674.80 gross for a 10-hour week, paid 14 times per year.

The position is to be filled on September 15, 2025. The initial contract period is 6 months, with the possibility of an extension (a maximum of two years in total).
